Michelle lined up several homes and quintas in Matagalpa, Esteli, and Jinotega for us to visit and evaluate as a possible future Nica home - including transportation + guide (to help with translation), real estate spec sheets, etc. Part of our trip was to scout and explore the highlands cities for relocation in Nicaragua. They have a bunch of other tour options on their website, all worth taking advantage of for a hassle free, full service way to experience local Nica treasures and culture. Highland Tours also arranged a day at Selva Negra reserve for my wife's birthday, arranging the transportation, entry logistics, etc. We took advantage of their being located in Esteli to also spend a day touring El Tisey, La Granacha, and other local Esteli gems. We were able to explore each city with a local resident with extensive knowledge of the area, culture, history, etc. Michelle arranged walking tours of Matagalpa, Esteli, and Jinotega for us. All of the drivers were on time, extremely friendly, super reliable. We used them for our airport transportation, as well as between each of the three cities we visited. They offer full transportation services - including from / to Managua airport and around the highlands region. A couple of highlights from their website that we took advantage of their from full services: They offer and do a lot for locals and visitors alike. Michelle, Ben, and the team at Highland Tours couldn't have made our travels any easier or worry free. We spent almost 3 weeks in the Nicaragua highlands, to check out Matagalpa, EstelĂ, and Jinotega as possible destinations for relocation down to Nicaragua. We are so glad we were lucky enough to have Highland Tours organize our week for us. Nicaragua's beaches will forever call our family back, but spending time in the highlands was something we will never forget. Our complete lack of Spanish was never a issue as Marcel made sure we had time to learn and patiently translated all of our questions. Meeting Alberto and having coffee with a farmer after learning how his cooperative operates were just some of the highlights. Waterfalls, canyons, swimming, unlimited viewpoints, jungle walks, and eco farms. His knowledge and botanical expertise of the area, was only ever overshadowed by his love of the highland region and its people. Marcel our tour guide for the week might be the kindest person we have had the pleasure of meeting in all our travels. From walking us to our room, staying in contact via Whats App and after the first day recommending changes that better suited our family, the team from Highland made this trip a truly wonderful experience. This was just one example on how above and beyond Highland Tours went for our family. After giving him a quick breakdown on some day tours we had done he was surprised we had missed some highlights and he immediately made a detour to show us some sights that they were both excited to share. Benjamin ,and his driver picked us up in a very nice clean van and while we were making the 4 hrs drive to Esteli, he asked what we had all done in the first 10 days in Nicaragua. From the first communication with Benjamin to the ride to the Airport at the end, the professionalism and genuine concern we were happy never wavered. My family and I reached out to Highland Tours about putting a 6 day tour together of the highlands.
